After 12 months out of the game due to multiple injuries and health concerns, Serena is back and means business.
She has been given a wild card to play at Devonshire Park, a grass tournament in preparation for Wimbledon. Incidentally, the last time she played was in her Wimbledon winning performance last year. Not many would dare bet against a similar run this year despite the injury lay off.
“I am so excited to be healthy enough to compete again,” Serena said. “These past 12 months have been extremely tough and character building. I’m thankful to my family, friends and fans for all your support. Serena’s back.”
